As you can see from the photo above, there was once a time when Liverpool Defender Jose Enrique actually had decent, normal facial hair. Why he decided to abandon that and go with a look that resembles the mustache of Adolf Hitler is anyone’s guess. What’s worse, he did a Twitter photo proud of his new look.
This could be the greatest social media fail in Premier League history.

As you might expect, Enrique has faced quite a backlash for this look resembling the man who is synonymous with Anti-Semitism (International Business Times, with hat tip to Fark)
One Twitter user posted: “I hope you don’t got any Jewish followers,” while another simply said “oh my word.”
Enrique has only made three appearances for Liverpool, but the damage to Anfield’s brand is done. Just when people have finally disassociated Luis Suarez with The Reds, this incident comes along. It’s been a rough season for Liverpool; on and off the pitch.
Enrique did not tweet anything explaining himself or apologizing. He did however, Twitpic how psyched he was to go see the musical “Wicked.”
