For Liverpool FC, the “biggest” of their preseason exhibition games (if you can call a friendly “big”) commences in a few hours with the International Champions Cup clash against Manchester United.
Although it’s just a friendly, up to 100,000 spectators are expected to attend so there is certainly no shortage of topics to discuss today. Let’s take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet this Saturday.
Cheap tickets are still available for this match, if you’re a student at the University of Michigan, or know somebody who is and could buy you one.
There are also general public tickets available, but they’re $50! Also, parking around the venue is nightmarish as possible. Any lot within a mile and a half from the stadium charges an exorbitant amount, and the logistics of entering and leaving on the roadways surrounding the venue are catastrophic.
Liverpool had a training session Friday at Michigan Stadium, which is nicknamed “The Big House” as it’s the second biggest stadium in the entire world (this largest is actually in North Korea, interestingly enough).
The Reds had a throng of fans show up to watch the team train in the Big House, and here are some photos from the session.

-Here is the video of the entire Jurgen Klopp press conference in Michigan Stadium that preceded the training session. He was of course asked about the comments United manager Jose Mourinho made, in which the Portugese said Klopp needs to win trophies now having spent so much money in the summer transfer window.
The German answered the question, but refused to be drawn into a war of words with Mourinho. The session, of course, included the extremely stale, mother of all cliches “will this grow the game of soccer in the U.S./is this growing the game of soccer in the USA?” bit.
That’s been a staple of most, if not all ICC press conferences thus far.
Actually the only real news, or at least the biggest bit of news to come out of the session, was an update on midfielder Naby Keita, picked up a very strange injury earlier this week. Well, it’s more of a knock.
“Naby is probably out,” Jurgen Klopp said.
“It’s only a stiff neck but eight hours on that plane with the air conditioning, not comfortable enough for him. He won’t train. We have another session on Saturday morning so we will see what happens over night. It’s not serious.”
-Elsewhere, Liverpool and the main tenants of the Big House, college football’s the Michigan Wolverines, did a football meet football/game recognizes game photo opp:

-Finally, check out the surprise Reds superstar Mo Salah received at training from Robbie Fowler.
The reaction from the PFA and Premier League Player of the Year is priceless.
