Liverpool currently sit atop the table in the Premier League, with their opponents on Saturday, Arsenal, right behind them in second place. It’s a match-up of the only two teams in the Premier League to win both of their games this young season.
In order to make it three wins from three matches, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would be best served by not tweaking his lineup too much. The German should, and likely will, leave the same attack and back line in place from the win at Southampton last weekend.
The midfield is where it gets interesting, because Klopp has four solid selection options (Fabinho, Jordan Henderson Georginio Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain) for three positions. Who will be the odd man out? We’re guessing it will probably be the Ox.
Although it’s very early in the season, this match is still a big one. Any all-big six clash is huge, but the Reds have seen Manchester City drop points already, so they need to carpe diem while it’s here.
With that in mind, we believe Klopp will go with the most experienced option, and thus we believe AOC will not get the chance to face his former side in a first team role.
