After waiting for almost a year, the Africa Cup of Nations is finally set to begin in Cameroon. We will witness some of the best sportsmanship in a tournament like never before. Players like Mo Salah will be gracing the field and giving their best performances ever. The game began on January 9th and will be continuing until February 9th. In these unfortunate times, people are more concerned about Coronavirus and its effect on the player’s performance. Betting in Africa is going in full swing, and people are putting their money at stake. Let’s have a look at the latest news about the Africa Cup of Nations:

The start of the AFCON was a little unfortunate as Mendy tested positive for Covid and will no longer be joining the team against Zimbabwe. Although the match started negatively, the tournament is continuing in full swing. Every player is doing well health-wise and performing at their optimum best throughout the games. According to the latest news, Egypt is performing best, and it also qualified for the last of 16 nations. Overall, Egypt now qualifies to be in group D and competing with group E in the upcoming matches.

Abdallah Al Said was cornered and headed home in the 35th minute by Mohamed Abdelmonem. The goalkeeper Ali Abu Eshrein and Mohamed Salah were a good team as all efforts of Sudan went out of the window a few minutes after the match started. Egypt had a great victory as they now Qualify into group D and will be competing with group E winner in the upcoming games. However, Egypt is three points lower than Nigeria as they won against Guinea-Bissau by a 2-0 score.

Due to the outstanding performance by Egypt, people have high expectations from it. Hence, the bet on Egypt is rising considering its performances in previous AFCONs. Considering Egypt has been a winner of AFCON seven times, it is performing incredibly this time.

It was successful in reaching the knockout stage five times in six matches. Sudan is in a weak position because they need to win to sustain their place in the tournament. By the end of the game, Sudan has a booming 50% chance to win the match against Egypt. However, Egypt stayed strong, and due to its efficient performance, they could beat Sudan.

Egypt and Nigeria have high chances to reach the final knockout round. Both teams have exceptional players that make the right moves to get their team through hurdles. It would be interesting to see which of these two take the trophy home. Many people are betting on Egypt, but witnessing the star performance of Nigeria, the chances of the latter winning is high. Which team are you supporting in the AFCON this year?
