Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp met the media a few hours ago to preview tomorrow’s rivalry match at Manchester United, a clash that could ultimately decide the Premier League runners-up this season. We have video of the entire media session for you here below via YouTube.
There were a whole host of topics covered in this news conference, including: what this match means, what rivalries mean, the fans/home field advantage, the term “parking the bus,” the style of football United and Liverpool play and much much more.
Here’s the whole session, which runs just under eighteen minutes:
“I don’t think this game needs any extra reasons to be a bigger game,” Jurgen Klopp said. “It’s the biggest game I can imagine.
“First of all, really looking forward to it. How it always is in these games, it’s difficult. We need to be at 100 percent, if not even a few more, to get something. That’s the plan.”
“I don’t think there will be a lot of space in a lot of moments. It will be a big fight, how derbies are in general. Hopefully at the end with a positive result for us.”
Klopp also gave a fitness update during the session. Andrew Robertson and Georginio Wijnaldum are available, while Nathaniel Clyne continues his recovery. Captain Jordan Henderson is fully recovered from the dead leg he suffered in midweek during the goalless draw with FC Porto; he’ll be ready to go.
Said Klopp: “Robbo is clear. Clyney is still on a very good way, with no further injury since he has been back.
“Hendo, dead leg, looked OK yesterday. Gini is also on the way back and looked good. Him and Ben [Woodburn] lost one or two kilos (from getting sick), but should be OK again.”
“It was normal in training,” the German concluded.
