It promises to be a very exciting summer transfer window at Chelsea Football Club, with plenty of potential comings and goings. With it looking quite likely a new manager comes in to replace Antonio Conte, you can expect a series of roster changes to follow
So, let’s take a spin through the latest Chelsea transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today.
-If Anthony Martial leaves Manchester United, then he would have plenty of potential suitors, including Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Juventus. His United deal expires in June of 2019, and it’s been reported that the Frenchman has turned down the contract extension that he was offered. The 22-year-old seeks assurances over consistent, regular playing time before committing his long term future to the club.
French outlet RMC says that United manager Jose Mourinho has promised Martial the opportunity to play next season in his more preferred role as a centre-forward, instead of playing out wide, the slot where we’ve seen him most often this season.
According to the Daily Mirror, United would only send Martial to Chelsea if Willian moves the other way. Mourinho is a long time admirer of his former player, and he’s made no secret of his pursuit. Mourinho did say during an interview with a Brazilian outlet that his team needs at least one Brazilian, and the 29-year-old would certainly fit the bill as to what Mourinho likes to do.
The Mirror pegs this potential transaction as a £80 million swap deal. The same publication also reports that Chelsea are closing in on a £30 million acquisition of Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore.
Finally, Both Arsenal and Chelsea have both been alerted to fresh reports that Leonardo Jardim will leave Monaco this summer. We already know that the Gunners are in the market for a new boss, and it appears quite likely that Chelsea will be as well.
