Yes, Gordon Gee is as stupid as he looks. Or at least acts as stupid as he looks. Quite often. BUCKNUTS!!!!
He certainly says things equal in stupidity to his appearance in the above picture. The president of THE Ohio State UNIVERSITY apologized to the Big Ten Conference for remarks he made last year about a few athletic programs. And it’s all over Twitter now that Gordon Gee is retiring.
In a crafted statement Sunday, Gordon Gee said he made “misguided attempt at humor” in December. He says the Big Ten universities are “some of this country’s most highly accomplished research institutions” and he’s honored to lead a Big Ten school.
Gordon Gee said Notre Dame wasn’t allowed to join the Big Ten because its leaders weren’t good partners. He said the Catholic priests were “holy hell” on days other than Sunday and “those damn Catholics can’t be trusted.”
He also questioned the academic integrity of schools in the Southeastern Conference. Gordon Gee has bashed the SEC before, so this isn’t anything new.
Gordon Gee also emailed Arkansas football coach Bret Bielema an apology in the wake of the inappropriate comments.
Gee said Bielema, the former Wisconsin Badgers coach was viewed as a “thug” in the eyes of Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez and that Bielema’s departure as coach of the Badgers was a “blessing” for the university.
Barry Alvarez said “Gordon Gee called me to apologize last week regarding comments he knew would be made public. I have never said that about Bret, nor had those feelings towards him. I accepted Gordon’s apology and consider the matter closed.”
Which means of course that we in the media consider the matter open. Very open.

From The Daily Chicago Sports Tab:
This from the same virtuoso that that, when asked if he would have to fire then-football coach Jim Tressel, responded by saying “I’m just hoping that the coach doesn’t dismiss me.” Of course, Tressel would later have to resign after it was revealed that he was… wait for it… dishonest.
The comment also comes from the president of the same university that has vacated significant football games and removed successful basketball teams from their record books in the last 12 years because they were… wait for it… dishonest.
For his part, Gordon Gee has reportedly spent $64,000 of the university’s money on bow ties since 2007. The Dayton Daily News also reported that “Gee stays in luxury hotels, dines at country clubs and swank restaurants, throws lavish parties, flies on private jets and hands out thousands of gifts — all at public expense.”
