The Sunday tabloids brought us the narrative that Jose Mourinho “sack watch” is now back on following this weekend’s embarrassing showing by Chelsea at home versus Bournemouth. It’s just plain unacceptable for a giant club like this to keep losing, especially against recently promoted sides. The proverbial sword is dangling over Mourinho’s head again.
Monday’s news informs us that Jose Mourinho is actually down to his last chance.
The Mirror is reporting that Chelsea is “increasingly concerned that there is no end in sight to the club’s horrendous domestic form.” This outlet is saying that The Special One could be The Sacked One as early as this week, especially if the next result doesn’t pan out in his favor.
The Sun claims that Big boss Roman Abramovich will pull the trigger if and when the Blues lose to Mourinho’s former club Porto and then get defeated by league leaders Leicester City next Monday. The defending champions are currently just two points above the relegation zone and if the Blues are eliminated from Champions League, what’s left for them to play for this season?
If the entire season is then a wash, Stamford Bridge will have no choice but to part ways with Jose Mourinho, and then go in another direction.
