Eden Hazard Says It’s Too Early for Chelsea to Think Premier League Title

eden hazard

Eden Hazard and Chelsea head to the international break on an extremely high note, having routed Southampton 3-0 today. They are level on points with Manchester City and Liverpool atop the Premier League table, but sit sandwiched between the two teams, in second place, due to tiebreaker criteria.

Hazard, who scored again today in the victory, had previously said that he relishes Chelsea’s role as Premier League title dark horses (City and Liverpool are everybody’s favorites to win it all). Now he’s taking a different look at the title race, saying that it is just too early to handicap it.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction vs Southampton FC

chelsea fc

Chelsea FC travel to Southampton FC on Sunday looking to stay undefeated on the Premier League season. They are also looking to get back in the win column, having played their last two league matches to a stalemate. They’ll face a Saints side that is looking to move up the table, as they currently reside perilously close to the drop zone.

While Manchester City and Liverpool are the favorites to win the title, don’t count out the Blues as a dark horse contender. At the very least, their chances of a top four finish look great right now.

Chelsea FC vs Southampton FC Injury Report, Match Preview

Sunday brings a clash that features two sides at opposite ends of the Premier League table as Chelsea FC visit Southampton FC. That’s because the only two teams ahead of them, Liverpool and Manchester City, are squaring off later that afternoon at Anfield, and a draw on Merseyside plus a Blues win at the St. Mary’s equals Chelsea at 20 points, tied with the Reds and Sky Blues.

Liverpool FC vs Southampton Injury Report, Match Preview

liverpool fc anfield

Liverpool FC and Southampton will clash tomorrow afternoon at Anfield in a Premier League fixture that features two clubs who are very familiar with one another. That’s because of all the transfer business the two sides have done with each other in recent years. Liverpool have bought so many players from the south coast club in recent transfer windows that it’s been a consistent punchline in the football world.

As for the series itself between the two clubs, it’s been good for the Anfield outfit, but not too one-sided. In 38 league meetings, there have been 10 draws, 10 Saints wins and 18 Liverpool victories.

Applying Premier League Club Spending on a Personal Finance Level

british pounds

“Splash the cash” has certainly been the motto of the English Premier League’s biggest clubs in recent years as every summer transfer window sees new spending records get smashed. Then those new records which were just set get broken again the next summer, as the monetary figures we see reported in the news all the time keep skyrocketing.

Television broadcast rights for the game keep increasing exponentially. The same holds true for kit manufacturing deals. Merchandising income keeps going up. As clubs are seeing their income rise, so too has their spending. The biggest clubs have a lot of financial clout to wield, and we see this on multiple fronts, but most glaringly so in the transfer market.

premier league

By Joseph Plunkett

It feels rather harsh discussing relegation from the Premier League when we are just one game into the new season. However, with the financial muscle England’s top division now holds, never has relegation been such a feared fate among the twenty competing clubs than it is today. The price of failure, capable of ruining clubs, has never been higher.

So, who’s considered fodder for staying up with the big boys and who, after just one week, is already fighting for their lives?

danny ings

A player moving FROM Liverpool TO Southampton, and not the other way around? Yes, it actually happened, and it happened on summer transfer window deadline day 2018. Ings had been long linked with a move down to the south coast, but the switch didn’t get over the line until the very last minute.

News of the deal, which is a season long loan move that becomes a permanent transfer next summer, didn’t break until a couple hours after the window officially shut.

premier league

The new Premier League season kicks off in earnest this weekend, and Manchester United hosts Leicester City in the curtain raiser tomorrow night. Will we finally see a repeat league champion? It hasn’t happened since a Cristiano Ronaldo led United side accomplished the feat in 2008-09, the final year of a three peat for Sir Alex Ferguson’s juggernaut.

Looking at the record setting season that Manchester City just accomplished, plus the fact that they have strengthened this off-season, we’re picking Pep Guardiola to accomplish something that no one has been able to do in close to a decade.
