Before the Earth shattering vote yesterday, Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger made his very strong opinions known on the Brexit issue, you can read more on that at this link. Now Gunners goalkeeper Petr Cech has also spoken out, giving an extremely strong take as well. As well he should as this is a huge global issue that’s adversely affecting financial markets worldwide.

Here’s what Petr Cech, the reigning Premier League goalkeeper of the year, Tweeted out from this official account:

.@GMB It looks like the biggest decision in the history of this country was made based on fake campaign and lies … https://t.co/8PWLqdnqLq

If you need to put an individual face on the Brexit campaign, i.e. label a villain, it’s Nigel Farage, and kudos to Petr Cech for calling him out! So how will all of this affect the Premier League? Well, the BPL issued this statement for what it’s worth. Read into it what you will.

“The Premier League is a hugely successful sporting competition that has strong domestic and global appeal. This will continue to be the case regardless of the referendum result.

“Given the uncertain nature of what the political and regulatory landscape might be following the ‘Leave’ vote, there is little point second-guessing the implications until there is greater clarity.”

“Clearly, we will continue to work with Government and other bodies whatever the outcome of any process.”
