Manchester City have now lost three matches in a row- both legs of the Champions League quarterfinal tie with Liverpool, and the Manchester derby sandwiched in between. The way that City’s season has transpired, at least up until that point, would have made the idea of three losses in a row, unthinkable.
Now, should the Citizens fall at Wembley Stadium tomorrow night to Tottenham Hotspur, the four losses in a row would mark the worst of manager Pep Guardiola’s career.
Tottenham, on the other hand, have not lost in 2018 and avoiding defeat in this one brings a new club-record unbeaten streak of 15; eclipsing a 2015 run from August to December. Let’s take a look at the injury/fitness/availability situation for this game.
Tottenham left-back Danny Rose will miss out because of a calf injury. However, his absence is not expected to be lengthy. Harry Winks and Kyle Walker-Peters are out; with Kieran Trippier a doubt due to fatigue.
On the other side, sensational scorer Sergio Aguero was ruled out of action on Friday afternoon. Midfielder Fernandinho is suspended after picking up his 10th yellow card in the 3-2 loss to Manchester United.
Meanwhile defender Benjamin Mendy remains out and John Stones is a doubt due to a groin problem.
