Thierry Henry Confirms Interest in Succeeding Arsene Wenger

Will this be the final season that Arsene Wenger is in charge at Arsenal? Who will be his replacement, if his time is finally up? When it comes to successors, many names have been tossed about, including club legend Thierry Henry. The Frenchman and former Gunners forward was asked close to a year ago about the Arsenal manager position uncertainty, and if he thinks he will replace Wenger, or if he even wants to.

When Henry, currently an assistant coach with the Belgium National Team, spoke on these topics back then, he was unsure of whether he could take the gig, or if he even wanted to. He was flattered by the stories linking him to be the next boss at the Emirates, but he couldn’t commit to the job being a goal or an objective.

This time though it was a completely different story as Thierry Henry confirmed the idea that succeeding Wenger would be a dream come true. (For many, if not most Gunners supporters, #WengerOut would be a dream come true).

“I still have a job to do with Belgium, but let’s see what’s going to happen,” Henry told Sky Sports.

“It will be a dream for me, but I’m still with Belgium. Interested? Yes, who wouldn’t be?

“But I can’t talk about that out of respect for the man that is in charge still and my job that I’m doing right now with Belgium. But who wouldn’t be interested?”

Wenger has been at the club 21 years and counting, if he is to be sacked, or retires, who are the leading contenders to replace him? Bet Victor has some names on the board, but Thierry Henry is not one of them.

Joachim Low is the favorite at 5/1, followed by Carlo Ancelloti at 7/1, and Thomas Tuchel at 10/1.
