You couldn’t ask for a more heart warming Liverpool supporter tale. Well, maybe if Jurgen Klopp was somehow involved in this story…it would make it even closer to perfect than it already is. First a little bit of context to set the scene.

Last night brought the most exciting football we’ve seen from Liverpool since…well, certainly since the 2013-14 season probably. Liverpool Twitter lit up yesterday in a manner unlike any other since Jurgen Klopp took over. Liverpool FC was top trending internationally as the Reds came back from two goals down after ten minutes to achieve a victory that will go straight into club folklore.

The emotion of the moment even caused Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp to curse on live television in his post match interview.

Hours later the club learned their opponent for the semi-finals of Europe’s consolation bracket.

Against this backdrop we bring you the tale of a lost cell phone and a found pleasant surprise.

Via FOX Soccer:

Dejan Lovren’s stoppage-time winner sent the Kop into an absolute frenzy at Anfield, and amid the commotion Liverpool supporter Liamie Marum lost his cell phone.

A fair sacrifice for a priceless memory, sure, but Marum managed to get the phone back. And what’s more, it came with a bonus! In the midst of the pandemonium, Liverpool’s Mamadou Sakho and Divock Origi found the phone and did what any rational duo would do these days…they took a selfie.

“Well what can I say but unbelievable,” Marum wrote on Facebook.

You can’t ask for a better story. That is if you’re looking to combine social media, football and the defining characteristics of the Millenial generation.
