The 2015-16 Barclay’s Premier League season is winding down and now everyone will get excited for the new season which kicks off on August 8th. It’s a good time to look at the predictions we made last August to see who they turned out.
The bookies have already churned out predictions to place a bet on, how they think the next season will play out and who is worth wagering on.
2014-15 league champions Chelsea will still surely be the ones to watch this forthcoming season. With cash in the bank, Jose Mourinho at the helm at John Terry captaining the side, they will very much remain the team to beat in 2015-16.
Hot on their heels will be Arsenal and Manchester City, who could not quite compete with the league leaders.
City remain a strong squad and will no doubt perform well next year. Momentum has certainly been building in the Arsenal camp over the past year; meaning they will really be gunning for the title next year.
Place your bet carefully on one of these teams for the league title, and if you’re feeling adventurous you could gamble on them getting to the latter stages of the Champions League; though that still seems to be likely only for the slightly stronger Spanish and German teams.
West Ham have also found their feet over the past year, performing well and finishing much higher up the table than we’ve seen lately. Bet with caution.
Bournemouth are the real star story of the year though, fighting back from near liquidation 7 years ago to find themselves topping the Championship, and promoted to the Premier League for the 2015-16 season. Although they are certainly the underdog, the lack of big name players or throwaway cash doesn’t mean they won’t be able to hold their own in the top flight. They could cause a few upsets in games that you might regard as safe bets.
With so many great performances, shocks and highlights last season, the 2015 – 2016 season is sure to be exciting. If you want to add a little excitement to the game then try putting some cash on one of these teams.
