Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction vs Sheffield United

liverpool

The unblemished season is not on the table for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, but an undefeated campaign is still there to be had. Knowing what we know of Klopp, i.e. the fact that he does not coast and relent, he may push his side to achieve such a feat.

The managers of both the second and third place teams in the table have already conceded the Premier League title race, but even with that acknowledged, one should still not expect the German to field a weaker side for any of the upcoming matches during this busy festive period of fixture congestion.

Liverpool FC vs Sheffield United Team News: Fabinho, Lovren, Matip

With a 13 point lead, and a game in hand to boot, halfway through the Premier League season, the title race is done and dusted and Liverpool FC are champions-elect. Just don’t tell manager Jurgen Klopp.

“We are a unit so we fight until somebody says ‘it’s enough’ and ‘you have enough points’ or not,” Klopp said following Sunday’s win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield. “We will see. But it’s not about belief. If we were not confident it would be really crazy but it’s not about knowing, or wanting to know, that it’s already done. Imagine, really, if you asked me and I sat here and said ‘yeah, actually, I think it’s done’…That would be really crazy.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Optimistic About January Transfer Window Additions

The January transfer window is now here and we shall see if Manchester United make some additions. Currently in fifth place, the time and space is right to beef up the roster and make that push for the top four. Of course, it remains to be seen who Old Trafford might go after, with top target Erling Haaland having gone to Borussia Dortmund instead.

Despite United having the inside track, due to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s connections to the Norwegian youngster, the club was reportedly not very keen on what the wonder kid’s agent, Mino Railo, was asking. Another top MUFC target, Mario Mandzukic, elected to sign with Qatar Stars League club Al-Duhail instead. Maybe United wasn’t really that interested instead.

harry-kane-chicago-cubs-tottenham-transfer-rumors

The date is July 25, 2014; Tottenham Hotspur FC are in Chicago to play the Fire in a friendly at Toyota Park the next night. On this evening, members of Tottenham’s side are doing a public appearance at Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. Budding face of the franchise and English football Harry Kane throws out the ceremonial first pitch before the Cubs take on the San Diego Padres.

Kane, Michael Dawson and Anthony Rizzo do a shirt swap in this Cubs-Spurs international exchange program, but there’s a much bigger reason to revisit a photo-opp five and a half years later. The two franchises, an ocean apart, are set to progress along very similar paths over the next half-decade.

Tottenham vs Southampton Team News: Winks, Son, Davies, Long, Obafemi

As 2019 turns to 2020, Jose Mourinho has Tottenham Hotspur on the upswing, having added a cutting edge to the side that was missing this campaign before he got there. And while they’re refocused again, there is still a ton of work to do.

They really miss their captain and No. 1 Hugo Lloris, who remains out for the New Year’s Day clash at Southampton FC. Defenders Danny Rose and Ben Davies remain out as well while Heung-min Son will continue serving his suspension. Meanwhile Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko are back available for selection, having missed out on the weekend draw with Norwich City due to suspension.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said out loud what we’re all thinking about the current state of his side’s season. The two time defending Premier League champions trail table topping Liverpool by 14 points, and the Reds have a game in hand to boot.

Guardiola, on at least a couple occasions, has conceded the league title race. With that out of the question now, and a domestic treble achieved last season, what’s left for his City to accomplish? manchester-united-logo

What’s got to be the New Year’s resolution for Manchester United? Finding some semblance of consistency! United  have lost to some of the worst teams in the Premier League in: Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Newcastle United, Watford FC and AFC Bournemouth.

In addition to getting beat by low table and relegation fodder sides, they’ve also beaten the big boys. United are still the only team to take points from Liverpool this season, and they’ve defeated the other three teams in front of them in the standings/the rest of the top four.

Arsenal FC Starting XI Prediction vs Manchester United

Maybe the flipping of the calendar is a great thing for Arsenal FC? 2019 was a disaster under Unai Emery, who was deservedly sacked, and interim manager Freddie Ljungberg couldn’t stop the bleeding. Now Mikel Arteta takes over the shambolic side which is a complete train wreck defensively. He’s the right man for restarting the culture, over time, but supporters will have to be patient.

At least they still have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who continues to be a prolific scorer. The Gunners will host Manchester United on New Year’s Day, in a match-up of two clubs trying to find their way during their rebuilds.

Man United vs Arsenal Team News: Bailly, Pogba, Rojo, Chambers, Xhaka

Manchester United visits Arsenal Wednesday night in a match-up of two giant clubs that have fallen far from their former glory. United are much closer to getting back there, as at least 1.) they are up to fifth place now in the table and 2.) they have shown that that they can beat the big boys.

However, they also lose to the small sides and those defeats are just inexcusable. The Red Devils are coughing up easy goals and MVP David De Gea is having a down season, at least by his elite goalkeeping standards. This could be a problem against a gunners side that can certainly score.
