Paul Pogba Says He’s Very Happy Under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford

paul pogba

There have certainly been more than enough articles chronicling the relationship between Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and his manager Jose Mourinho. Much of the coverage speculates on the nature of the duo’s relationship, claiming that it’s pretty fractured.

At times this season Mourinho has decried such stories as lies. We’ve also seen plenty of stories linking Pogba with an Old Trafford exit this summer, as the Frenchman’s agent, Mino Raiola claims that he offered his client to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola in January.

AS Roma Owner Denounces Attack on Liverpool Fan, Slams Hooligan “Morons”

AS Roma Owner James Pallotta launched an extremely scathing critique on the “morons” whose actions last week in Liverpool were examples of “the most disgusting stupidity.”

Prior to Liverpool’s 5-2 win in their home leg of a Champions League semifinal tie with AS Roma, two men attacked Sean Cox, a 53-year-old Liverpool supporter from Ireland who remains in critical condition. Two Italian men, believed to be AS Roma ultras, have been charged and remain in custody, due to appear in Liverpool Crown Court on May 24.

Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas Shine Despite Chelsea Lack of Chances

eden hazard

Chelsea beat Swansea City today 1-0 largely due to the efforts of Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas, both of whom were dynamic at the Liberty Stadium. Fabregas scored the match’s lone goal while Hazard was the Blues’ most threatening player on the pitch.

He’s also Chelsea’s leading scorer on the season, but with only 12 goals in Premier League play. Conte spotlighted this fact in his post match news conference, and with good reason, as the Blues failed to kill off a game they should have dominated against a team that is still in serious danger of being relegated.

Jose Mourinho Implies United Will Sign a Brazilian this Summer Transfer Window

summer transfer window

An interview Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho did for ESPN Brazil got a whole lot of worldwide attention this week, due to the fact that he was discussing his time working with Ballon d’Or candidate Mohamed Salah. Mourinho said that it was decision to buy Salah from Basel and bring him to Chelsea, while the decision to sell the Egyptian to Roma was out of his hands and made by his superiors.

The day after the interview, Mourinho was asked about it, with the very first question, in his weekly news conference. The result was a four minute rant, and the whole narrative was so dominant that it essentially overshadowed another, and arguably more news worthy component of that ESPN Brazil interview.

Arsene Wenger Says it will be a Bit Strange to Face Alexis Sanchez

alexis sanchez

Tomorrow will see Alexis Sanchez will face his former team, Arsenal, for the first time since his January transfer switch to Manchester United. Arsene Wenger, who will be making his final trip to Old Trafford as Arsenal manager, says it will be a bit strange to see the Chilean on an opposing team in another shirt.

However, the Frenchman admits that the Alexis swap deal, which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way, was a mutually beneficial deal. Wenger sees the transaction as one that was good for all involved as the 29-year-old rejected the Emirates contract extension offer, and was poised to move in the summer on a free transfer, given how his Arsenal deal was then set to expire.

shea patterson

The long, drawn out, extremely tedious eligibility saga of quarterback Shea Patterson is now over! Michigan fans can rejoice because they now have their blue chip signal caller officially cleared to play this fall. Reports had surfaced last night that this might be coming, and the official announcement came in the traditional, industry standard Friday at 5 pm when everyone has already checked out for the weekend news dump.

The University of Mississippi QB and the U of M then sent out a joint statement that was so dull and boring that I won’t dare burden you with citing it.

Jose Mourinho Regrets His Past Rows with Arsene Wenger

jose mourinho arsene wenger

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has publicly hit out at many different people and entities over the years, but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has definitely been one of his favorite targets. He’s called the Frenchman a lot of nasty names over the course of their individual rivalry, including a “voyeur.”

However, Mourinho took a 180 degree turn a week ago, when Wenger announced that he’ll be stepping down at the end of the season. Mourinho gave the 68-year-old a true “retirement bounce,” praising him extensively. That continued this week, as Mourinho said how much he respects Wenger in an interview with Sky Sports on Wednesday.
