Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler left today’s game at the Washington Redskins in the second quarter with a groin injury. Cutler was able to move to the tunnel at FedEx Field under his own power, but then reportedly lost the ability to walk without assistance later.
According to Tony Siragusa, during the Fox Sports telecast, Jay Cutler needed to be helped by two members of the Bears medical staff in order to walk. He was then taken for x-rays on his lower body. He will have an MRI Monday, as two Bears sources told NFL Network it “could be bad.”
Bears back-up Josh McCown filled in. If anything happens to McCown today, there is no third option. Jay Cutler and Josh McCown are the only QBs on the Bears roster. The Bears will likely sign a QB this week. But don’t get your hopes up, because 1995 Erik Kramer is definitely not walking through that door.
The Bears are now supposed to be bringing back Jordan Palmer, who was with the team but cut in the preseason.
The injury to Jay Cutler ruled him out for today.
