Blackhawks Clinch Central Division and Season Sweep the Red Wings

Not only did the Chicago Blackhawks clinch first in the Central Division Friday night, but they completed a regular season sweep of the hated rival Detroit Red Wings. The Blackhawks will finish the regular season 4-0-0 against the Red Wings. They are 14-0-1 against everyone else in their division, with only the St. Louis Blues stealing a point from them.

After coming out hard the first period and having one goal to show for several great chances, the refs interfered as much as they possibly could in the second period. After calling countless penalties against the Blackhawks and missing an interference call against both Toews and Crawford, then missing a holding of the stick call against Rozsival, the Blackhawks quickly found themselves down 2-1 in the second. At one point you could see both Coach Q and the captain, screaming at the horrible referees.

The fans of the Madhouse wouldn’t leave disappointed as Jonathan Toews scored his twentieth goal of the season to tie it up in the third, and Brandon Saad won it in the shootout. Crawford made several clutch saves in the shootout as well.
