Yankees draft 3B from Notre Dame; Duke, Cowboys & Heat fans rejoice

With the #26 pick in the MLB Draft, the New York Yankees selected Notre Dame 3B Eric Jagielo. I admit I know nothing about Eric Jagielo, and he could very well be the greatest kid in the world, the best student, the nicest guy (we already know he’s a very accomplished baseball player and about to become very rich).

However, as he goes from ND to the Yankees, wouldn’t it be hilarious if he were also a Duke Blue Devils or LA Lakers fan?

Now you may be asking why would this new Yankees draft pick be a fan of Duke? If he’s a Notre Dame student? Well, as I scientifically proved three months ago NO ONE CARES about Notre Dame basketball.

Also, Jagielo was previously drafted by the Chicago Cubs. So he was once drafted by a terrible, losing team in the hearts of many bandwagony frat boys to now being drafted by a proud, winning team in the hearts of many bandwagony frat boys.

From Cubs Den, John Arguello Live Blog of MLB Draft:

Yankees select a good bat in Eric Jagielo, who was once taken by the Cubs.  Jagielo played at Notre Dame and should stick at 3B.  The Reds take a good, undersized hitter in Philip Ervin, who could have went a lot higher if he could stick in CF.  Solid power, good hitter, and athleticism.  Nice player.

And his mock draft:

28.Cardinals: Eric Jagielo, 3B, Notre Dame: Jagielo is a former unsigned pick with the Cubs. He has a chance to give average defense at 3B and provide above average offense for the position.
