The exclusive list of invitees to the NBA Draft has been announced. And it’s just ten names long. You want to know if you have NBA Draft stock? Get invited to the Draft Combine. Want to know if you have genuinely high NBA Draft stock? Get invited to the Draft itself. Two Indiana Hoosiers made the cut- Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller.
The latter is the most boring, useless soundbite possible. So when he gets drafted Thursday night, expect that interview to be really worthless.
The list has more Big Ten and Midwestern flavor with Michigan Wolverines point guard Trey Burke also getting an invite to Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The seven remaining names are: Ben McLemore, Kansas Jayhawks, Otto Porter, Georgetown Hoyas, Nerlens Noel, Kentucky Wildcats, Alex Len, Maryland Terrapins, Anthony Bennett, UNLV Running Rebels, Michael Carter-Williams, Syracuse Orange, and C.J. McCollum of Lehigh.
So that’s who will most likely comprise the top 15 NBA Draft picks. And no matter where any of these guys end up, I can pretty much guarantee the GM who took him will tell the media: “I can’t believe he was still available when were picking.”
