UCLA super freshman Shabazz Muhammad has been declared ineligible to participate by the NCAA, the school announced before its season opener Friday night at Pauley Pavilion

Muhammad, the national high school player of the year last year and a possible top three pick in the next NBA Draft was found to have violated NCAA amateurism rules.

Kyle Anderson ready to help bring UCLA basketball back to prominence

The UCLA Bruins basketball program received a lot of negative publicity with the Sports Illustrated article bringing to light some the internal issues that has led to the team’s struggles the past couple of years.  A loaded recruiting class that includes McDonald’s All-American Kyle Anderson is ready to return the Bruin program back to prominence.

UPDATED 2012-2013 college basketball preseason top 25

Here is an updated on my preseason Top 25 for the 2012-2013 college basketball.  With transfers, the decisions of some previously undeclared top high school recruits, and players declaring their intentions to return to school or leave for the NBA Draft, there has been a lot of movement since I released my original rankings the day after the National Championship game.  (Click here for a list of NBA Draft early entries.) UCLA Bruins land #1 recruit Shabazz Muhammad

The nation’s #1 recruit Shabazz Muhammad, the hero of the McDonald’s All-American game, has picked UCLA.

Yes the Kentucky Wildcats have lost this one to the UCLA Bruins. The UCLA media were right, it was a done deal- Muhammad heads to Westwood; just as they claimed last week.

Kentucky, Duke, or UCLA; who benefits most from landing Shabazz Muhammad?

It is decision day for the top two college basketball recruits in the 2012 class.  Both Shabazz Muhammad and Nerlens Noel will announce which college they will attend (play hoops at for a year) tonight at 6:30 p.m. (CST) on ESPNU’s Signing Day special.  Both players have narrowed their list down three schools and will absolutely be instant game-changers at the college level.  Here is a breakdown of how the 6-6 wing Muhammad can impact his three finalists; Duke, Kentucky, and UCLA.

Nation’s #1 recruit, Shabazz Muhammad, narrows school choices down to four

The Nation’s #1 recruit, Shabazz Muhammad, will not be staying at home to play college basketball this fall. Cross UNLV off his list, as the Las Vegas native now has his own set of final four schools left remaining for his services.Two of them will be competing this Final Four weekend as Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, and UCLA remain in the mix.

On the day after he won the high school all-star week’s dunk competition, and on the eve of the McDonald’s All-American game, Muhammad talked about what each one has to offer.
