David Moyes has said in the very recent past Manchester United will not make any panic buys. Their disastrous first half of the season aside, Moyes said he will not overreact by making any desperate impulse purchases. Now, after a devastating loss at Stamford Bridge Sunday night, David Moyes made similar statements. Except this time it seems like hes gone a step further.
David Moyes reiterated that the piling up of losses in Premier League play, and their current standing in 7th place won’t be factor towards United making any transfer activity. So all that hoopla about Fabio Coentrao, and all the reports linking the Red Devils with every star midfielder you can name…could be all for naught.
“Not because of results,” David Moyes told Sky Sports.
“The club know exactly what we want to do and the direction we want to go and the type of players we want to bring to the club and a lot aren’t available in this window. If we could get any of them we would do, we are trying but more than likely most people know it is difficult.
“I think the club have always said it is long-term, we know there is a job to be done and we have an idea of players we would like to bring in and we would like them now, but more than likely won’t be.”
So now it seems, from what David Moyes has said, that all the transfer talk will have “summer window” attached to it. Perhaps now that’s when anything will happen. It’s January 20th, and nothing has happened in this window yet.
