All of these Michigan State Spartans videos and photos I shot were with my own devices. Yes, I run The Sports Bank, audio, visual, web, SEO everything on just three small hand-held devices.
Covering the Michigan State Spartans in the Big Ten Tournament, I witnessed a pretty dominant run. This impressive three game stretch, along with my Spartan lineage made me biased towards thinking Michigan St basketball is going to win the whole thing. Then when I got home from Indianapolis I realized, everyone else is picking them too.
All 5 ESPN experts are picking the Michigan State Spartans. Pretty much everyone has them in their bracket. As do I. As does our resident hoops genius David Kmiecik.

I had an exclusive interview with CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson. It’s a three-parter, and of course I asked her about the Michigan State Spartans becoming an overwhelming favorite among the experts, and what makes Sparty so powerful and hot right now.….(note: preview of MSU’s opening round games)
(note: here’s The Sports Bank’s staff predictions)
Tracy Wolfson: “everyone liked Michigan State earlier in the year too, and then the injuries happened and as Tom Izzo has made it clear, they’re gelling now. They’re getting back to playing their best basketball. They have seniors, young guys, they play well defensively, offensively, they can shoot the three. This would be the first senior class under Tom Izzo not have to made a Final Four, so that’s an extra incentive. I really like them, they could go very far.”
For this round of games, I’m off. Not working. Which means I can be a fan and watch the game at the sports bars with everyone else. And given the high concentration of Michigan State Spartans in Chicago, I know what’s going to happen when I wear my green out. There will be a MSU alum co-ed; the conversation will inevitably lead her to say “I was so drunk during that Final Four.” Over/under on number of times this happens Thursday: 6.
editor’s note: I did my voice impersonation of Tom Izzo while on a local Chicago radio station, you can hear the audio at this link
