Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp is finding the process of rebuilding the Reds to be quite the massive task. The team has actually gotten worse, not better since Brendan Rodgers was sacked and the German took over. When Rodgers was sacked, Liverpool was 6 points off the top of the table. Today the gap is 12 points. Likewise with the deficit for top four.
When Klopp took over they were three points off fourth place. Today, it’s 5.
Following his side’s 2-0 loss to West Ham United today, Klopp told BBC Sport: “I’m really angry today because we could have got so much more because everybody could see in the moments we play football what could happen. Today, we deserved to lose.”
“We always had the ball, we could have made much more chances but we didn’t. We have to again accept that we didn’t play like we should.”
Similar to today’s disaster, Jurgen Klopp and company suffered an embarrassing 3-0 loss to Watford on December 20th. After the game, Klopp said that defeat was “the most disappointing moment in his Liverpool life,” and that the team “lost their minds.”
“I would say hopefully it’s the most disappointing moment in my Liverpool life from now on,” he told reporters after the loss to the Hornets.
