As you no doubt heard a month or so ago, Ron Zook works in a bank. Not a big name, high-powered investment bank, but a small branch in Ocala, Florida. Zook serves as a Business Development Officer for Gateway Bank.
But when Ron Zook is not out trying to woo new clients to reduce their transaction fees and overdraft costs, he’s doing TV work for CBS Sports Network.
Inside College Football airs live Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the college football season. Tuesday’s two-hour roundtable show previews each week’s games. Adam Zucker hosts and is joined by analysts Aaron Taylor, Brian Jones, Ron Zook and Randy Cross.
Yes, that Ron Zook who brought University of Florida severely down a peg and brought Illinois…well, one year into the Tim Beckman regime, and Illinois Athletic Director Mike Thomas may as well be signing Player’s “Baby Come Back” to Ron Zook.
“Baby come back, you can blame it all on me. I was wrong, and I just can’t live without you. Baby come back, any kind of fool could see, there was something, in everything about you.”
Sure Ron Zook put up a pretty terrible record at Illinois. However, he did get back to back winning seasons, with bowl wins, and he sent a ton of guys to the NFL. Which isn’t done very often in Champaign.
Of course, I still wouldn’t invest with Ron Zook, so while I wouldn’t hand my money over to him at a bank, I might consider watching him on CBS Sports Network. Zucker, Stover and Dana Jacobson anchor studio programming and are joined by analysts Jones and Ron Zook for Inside College Football, as well as former Arkansas coach Houston Nutt and former Colorado and NFL tight end Christian Fauria, who makes his debut on CBS Sports Network this season.
