ANOTHER AMAZING GOAL FOR GRANLUND

While Mikael Granlund may not be playing for the Minnesota Wild for at least one more year, but he continues to show the skill and hands that amazed the entire world at this year’s World Championships, where he scored the world’s greatest goal.  Today, the Minnesota Wild held one of two scrimmages for the prospects who had been invited to development camp this past week.  To see the highlight goal that Granlund scored during today’s scrimmage, continue after the jump.

The Minnesota Wild held their prospect camp this past week at the Xcel Energy Center, and one of the most anticipated players to be involved was last year’s first round pick, Mikael Granlund.  The State of Hockey got a chance to see him play this morning at the prospect’s scrimmage, which was open to fans this morning, as well as Sunday morning at 11:00am.  And Granlund did not disappoint.  Take a look at the video below to see the slick move that Granlund used in a shootout.

While this wasn’t as spectacular as his goal for Finland at the Worlds, this is one of my favorite shootout moves.  I recently even bought the Swedish stamp last week which commemorates when Peter Forsberg used the same move to defeat Canada in the 1994 Olympics.

This may be the first time that Granlund got to hear the roar from the Xcel Energy Center crowd, but it definitely won’t be the last.  Expect many more of these highlight goals from Granlund throughout the years once he joins the NHL.
