This is one dedicated Chicago Blackhawks fan. Donna Lebano is probably Blackhawks fan of the year! This Mother’s Day was extra special for her as she welcomed Owen Michael into the world Thursday night.
Lebano, Blackhawks fan extraordinaire, took in the Hawks defeat of the Minnesota Wild May 9th at the United Center. The Blackhawks win eliminated the Minnesota Wild and propelled the Blackhawks to a second round playoff match-up with their old arch-nemesis, the Detroit Red Wings.
During that game five victory, Lebano went into labor a month premature.
“No way was I leaving,” Lebano said. “We are a Hawks family. I had to see the end of the game.” (CC Image CPR) Her first contraction hit during the second period, but she toughed it out for the entire game. She didn’t go anywhere for at least an hour.

Good thing for this Blackhawks fan that the home of the Blackhawks is located right across the street from the Illinois Medical Center. Rush University Medical Center is just one of three hospitals which are just a couple blocks from the United Center.
A few hours after the game, Owen Michael was born weighing 6 pounds, 5 ounces.
