We still have a few weeks to go, but Tottenham Hotspur could be “declared” the “winners” of the summer transfer window. That said, being named transfer window “champions” does not guarantee anything. There are no trophies for it, and articles on the topic have shown that it doesn’t often correlate with a massive uptick in winning percentage.
Still when you look at the Tottenham roster, ahead of this weekend’s behind closed doors friendly against Getafe, you can see how much deeper and more talented it is than last year.

In other words, the stakes are raised for the upcoming season. Expectations will be high in 2026-27.
Starting in goal, we think it’s Martin Dubravka out and Antonin Kinsky in, and then right back we’ll go with Tye Hall over Archie Gray. In central defense, we think summer signing Jan Paul van Hecke gets the nod over Kota Takai, and he then pairs up well (like grilled fish and a light white wine) with Ben Davies.
While some other Tottenham predicted XIs have club record signing Sandro Tonali starting on the bench, we actually think he’ll be involved from the get go. Lastly, we went with Richarlison over Dominick Solanke.
