Today is gonna be the day that they’re gonna throw it back to you, Liverpool and Manchester United fans. By now, you should have somehow realized what you gotta do in response to the trolling from Noel Gallagher. The musician and Manchester City super-fan, who served as the lead guitarist, co-lead vocalist and principal songwriter of the English rock band Oasis, has thrown some massive shade at both United and Liverpool.
Yesterday, Gallagher celebrated with City on the pitch at at the AMEX as his beloved side successfully defended their Premier League title. He then sang the Oasis song and City anthem “Wonderwall” with the players in the changing room.

City won at Brighton to finish with 98 points the second most in Premier League history behind only the century note they achieved last season. The third most points in PL history? Liverpool’s 97 this season. Noel Gallagher didn’t feel too bad for the Reds though.
“I can laugh. Of course I can!” he told talkSPORT. “I’m surrounded by scousers on my tour. When they knocked us out of the Champions League and they smashed up our team bus, it was like, ‘alright, have your moment’.
“People from Anfield Road can be proud of themselves that they’ve still got two of the biggest KFCs in Europe. So can be getting on with that until next year or the year after.”
After that incendiary rhetoric, he did show some respect later.
“Fair play to Liverpool for sticking at it,” Gallagher added. “To lose once and still not win the league is insane.”
Noel Gallagher also took aim at another club in northwest England, Manchester United. And to be fair, his digs are probably spot on.
“It’s all about the team [at City],” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast (h/t TalkSPORT). “The other mob in Stretford, they’re just buying individuals. You see [Alexis] Sanchez and [Paul] Pogba. They’re in trouble.
“They remind me of where we were in the late 1980s/early 90s – they’re just trying to buy their way out of trouble now. As long as Guardiola’s here, they’re not getting anywhere near us. No one is.”
He does have a point about United being more of a fantasy team right now, instead of a real, true team.
And even United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer himself admits that it’s going to take a while for United to catch up to City/the top of the table.
