Manchester United versus Newcastle United is certainly a series that is really heating up right now. The matches are always getting more meaningful. While historically, United have a major advantage (91 wins to Newcastle’s 45, to go along with 41 draws), the Geordies have recently re-asserted themselves in this re-burgeoning rivalry.

United have failed to score in three of their last four meetings with Newcastle, and won only one of the last five meetings. However, they did take the EFL Cup title tilt between these two clubs, back on February 26 of this year.

However, Newcastle exacted some measure of revenge this term, by knocking United out of the same competition, meeting in the tournament’s round of 16 time around.

They’re also substantial favorites, according to everybody projecting this match, to get the W here.

Looking like another defensive slogfest at St. James Park, where the hosts will get “pragmatic” and get the W. I think the prognosticators are right on this one.
