Liverpool Winger Mo Salah was best described by the announcer today in today’s 2-2 home draw versus Tottenham Hotspur: “the man has defied physics.” The observation, which came on what almost everybody thought would be the game winning score, only barely qualifies as hyperbole.
Take a look at the footage below, and you’ll agree:

It wasn’t even the only goal-of-the-year level scoring strike in this game either. You got to see this screamer from Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama which temporarily equalized the game to 1-1.
Mo Salah had a brace today which gives him 21 goals on the season. However, Harry Kane converted an extra time penalty (after missing on an earlier PK attempt) to become the second fastest to 100 premier league goals in history. Only the legendary Alan Shearer did it faster, in 124 appearances, versus Kane’s 141. Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero is third all time, getting it done in 147 attempts.
It’s going to be an extremely exciting Golden Boot Race between Kane, who now leads with 22, and Mo Salah, who is just one goal behind. Don’t count out Aguero either, who is currently third with 17 goals.
All in all, it was about as exciting a game as you’ll ever see, with a finish that was just about as bananas as you could ever dream of.
