Romelu Lukaku Reportedly Recruiting Alexis Sanchez to Join Him at Inter Milan

Romelu Lukaku is reportedly heavily recruiting his former teammate, fellow Manchester United disappointment in the forwards position group Alexis Sanchez, to join him at Inter Milan. His recruiting pitch appeals to the natural scenery and climactic advantages that Milan holds over Manchester.

This is a narrative being reported by the Daily Mail, and it’s somewhat reminiscent of Edurne, United goalkeeper David de Gea’s better half and Spanish pop star, infamously saying that Manchester looks like the back of a refrigerator.

According to the Mail, Big Rom who moved on the eve of transfer window deadline day in England for £73 million, has been messaging the Chilean every single day, and telling him “that Milan is a far more beautiful place to live than Manchester.”

There have been reports that these overtures are in fact working with the 30-year-old supposedly having already agreed to personal terms and having decided to bring his number 7 short over to the Serie A club. However, there is a major sticking point upholding this deal, which would consist of a season long loan move, and that’s Alexis’ astronomical salary.

“United will still be paying half of Alexis Sanchez’s £560,000-a-week wages, according to Gazzetta dello Sport,” the Mail writes.

Old Trafford really needs to take a long, hard look at how bad the situation is if they’re willing to pay somebody that much money not to play for them. There’s been a ton of talk this week about the future of Sanchez , and with that, we’ve heard a lot of mixed messages.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said on Friday that the former Arsenal man will be a part of the club’s plans this season, and that Alexis will “come good” at Old Trafford.

That seems to contradict the conventional wisdom being reported right now, which holds that the highest paid man in United history wants out, and will get his wish before the Sept 2 transfer deadline closes in Italy.
