This seems like a transfer rumor that’s come out of nowhere. Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon to Manchester United. There’s a lot of credibility to the rumor. it just doesn’t seem like the type of move that make a lot of sense.

Still David Moyes has that £300 million summer trust fund ready. And a portion of it could be to buy Lennon as a replacement for Antonio Valencia.

From Metro:

Football Direct News claims Moyes is full of admiration for Lennon’s pace and directness, and likes the fact he can operate on either flank.

But whether Spurs will sell to United is another matter. The two clubs do not enjoy the best of relationships, dating back to Dimitar Berbatov’s deadline-day switch to the Theatre of Dreams for just under £31million on September 1, 2008.

Moyes has after the Tottenham Hotspur player ever since his days as the leader of Everton. However, it appears getting Spurs to sell will be quite the challenge as these deals between teams traditionally in the top four is always tricky. Lennon has two years on his deal, and it’s not a foregone conclusion that Valencia is out the door at Old Trafford. It’s likely though, along with a whole host of players.
