Manchester United Starting XI Prediction at Chelsea FC (EFL Cup)

Have things finally bottomed out for Manchester United? Have we seen rock bottom, and then bouncing up upon hitting it? Maybe, as the Red Devils have won back to back matches, on the road no less! They had just gone a dozen away contests without a win.

Now comes a mid-week League Cup clash at Chelsea, a match-up that is historically great for United. In 184 all-time meetings, United have won 79 times, Chelsea 54, supplanted by 51 draws. More recently, the Red Devils are undefeated in their last four against the Blues. Heading into this round of 16 contest, we’re expecting manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to go with the same lineup that won at Carrow Road on the weekend.

Why try and fix that which is not broken?

Prediction: Manchester United 2, Chelsea 1

Regardless of recent Premier League form, this is just a bad match-up for the west London side. They are winless in their last four, including the past two home contests, against MUFC.
