A January transfer window with no real excitement at all just ended, and thus it’s never too early to talk summer transfer rumors. On Tuesday, Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho explained why none of the big six teams went out and beefed up their rosters, before adding that he plans for the summer.
Mourinho said he knows what he wants once the real transfer window gets here and everyone knows it’s Antoine Griezmann. That’s no secret, and we covered that one already in detail over at this link.
However, it doesn’t stop there. More Man United transfer rumors from Bristol:
“Jose Mourinho wants to add two forwards to his Manchester United squad during the summer transfer window, sources have told ESPN FC, due to concerns over the ability of his current strikers to make the team competitive in every competition.”
Midfielder Paul Pogba, the world’s most expensive player, could be the key to acquiring Griezmann (and United are extremely confident they’ll land the Frenchman, in what could be another record breaking transfer fee), but who could the other forward be?
Please don’t say Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, as that tired tedium has been floated many a time, and every time it was never even close to realistic. Kane is not coming to Old Trafford, so don’t even go there this summer.
So who will be the other forward United will pursue? As Men at Work sang in the 1980s, “who can it be now?”
