Bryan Robson Slams Officials, Antonio Conte and Jurgen Klopp in Defense of Jose Mourinho

Manchester United club legend and current ambassador Bryan Robson had an extremely strong take on the incident this past Saturday which resulted in manager Jose Mourinho getting sent off. In the 1-0 win at Southampton this past weekend, Mourinho got whistled for being just outside the technical area and thus sent off in the final minutes of extra time at the St. Mary’s.

You can see a couple different angles of the infraction at this link, and thus realize for yourself just how ticky tack this call really was.

Robson says it will be “a disgrace” if the Football Association decides to issue a fine or a ban on Mourinho, and called the situation “a joke.”

“When I saw it on TV, I thought it was an absolute joke,” the former midfielder said to ManUtd.com.

“I’ll be amazed if he gets a ban or a fine for that. I think the officials went way overboard by sending him to the stand. It’ll be a disgrace if he gets fined or banned and made to watch games from the stands over the coming weeks.”

It remains to be seen what disciplinary action the FA takes against Mourinho, if any.

Captain Marvel wasn’t done hitting out, as he also slammed rival manager Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and Antonio Conte at Chelsea for their touchline behavior.

“I don’t know what the officials are thinking about,” Bryan Robson continued.

“Throughout the last year or so, I’ve seen managers like [Jurgen] Klopp and [Antonio] Conte run about like lunatics, out of their box, down the side of the pitch and not a thing has been made of it — it’s called passion for the team, ut because Mourinho stepped just over the touchline, they sent him to the stands.”
