Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Wear Number 29 at Manchester United

Today was supposed to be the day that Crystal Palace right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka was formally announced as the newest member of Manchester United. Friday could still be the day when we see the English international in a holding a pen over a contract photo-opp, as multiple reports indicate that he’s passed his medical.

It was also expected that today would be the day his first official interview to the website of his new team was published.

However, it hasn’t happened yet, and while we wait, some more details have emerged regarding the player that some believe could be United’s right back for the next decade.

According to Sky Sports, the Team Player of the Year for Crystal Palace will have the same shirt number as he had at Selhurst Park.

The 21-year-old, according to The Sun’s Neil Custis, is also now the owner of the longest player contract in MUFC history; complementing his status as the club’s all-time most expensive defender and the fifth most expensive overall player in club history.

Additionally, yesterday saw photos of AWB in his new United short leak, and then go viral on the internet.

Wan-Bissaka becomes the second acquisition of the summer for United, behind Swansea City winger Daniel James. The club still has a ton of work to do though in the summer transfer window, as they still can’t find a new central defender upgrade.

Training camp for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and company opens up in three days. Go here for more on who the next signing for United could be this summer.
