Manchester United host Liverpool on Sunday and the balance of power between the two sides hasn’t been this lopsided in a very very long time. With a loss, and a combination of other possible results, United could honestly find themselves in the relegation zone!
Meanwhile Liverpool are top of the table with an eight point cushion. United also have to go to war with the army they have, not the army they want, and their forces are sans Paul Pogba and David de Gea. In other words, they’re heading into a match as heavy underdogs, and doing so without their MVP and their most talented outfield player.
Nevertheless, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains upbeat and committed to the long term vision. “I’m confident in what we’re trying to do and with my staff, I’ve been so impressed,” the Norwegian said.
“We have a plan and we have made some decisions in the short term that we knew would harm us but in the long term would benefit us, and that’s part of the plan.
“Results are always the main thing and we can move forward quicker with results and performances.”
