It’s been a great week for Manchester United when it comes to individual player power rankings. First we saw Paul Pogba top the ESPN weekly rankings of all players in Europe. Now, NBC’s weekly list of the top 20 players in the Premier League is dominated by Man United representation.
Here, Pogba checks in at #5, the highest new entry on the list. David de Gea leads the way at #2, Romelu Lukaku is #6 and another new entry, Alexis Sanchez comes in at #7. Here below is the top seven in full; go to this link to see the full top 20.
- Christian Eriksen (Tottenham) – Up 1
- David De Gea (Man United) – Up 7
- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal) – Up 11
- Marko Arnautovic (West Ham) – Up 12
- Paul Pogba (Man United) – New entry
- Romelu Lukaku (Man United) – Down 3
- Alexis Sanchez (Man United) – New entry
All the United representation is of course due to the Red Devils upset triumph in the Manchester derby this past weekend. City dominated the game, especially so in possession, shots and scoring chances, but United battled back from a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2, as they made the most of their chances, and stopped just enough of City’s scoring opportunities.
