All-world defender and reigning PFA Player of the Year Virgil van Dijk does not see reason for Liverpool to panic following their first loss (2-0 to Napoli in Champions League on Tuesday night) of the season. He doesn’t see the defeat causing a hangover that could carry over to the next match, at Chelsea on Sunday either.
“It shouldn’t be a wake-up call — we have been performing outstanding since the start of the season so there is no reason to panic,” VVD said.
“We played well, we put them under pressure, we created opportunities on the break. It is not easy to do that here you know, because they have the fans behind them, they are a very good footballing side, but we did it.”
“Of course it is all about the result and we know it was the wrong result.”
We don’t expect many changes at all from recent Liverpool first teams. So expect Jurgen Klopp to keep Van Dijk, and the rest of all the healthy first team players in the starting XI for this one
