Three Reasons Chelsea FC Can Win the Premier League Title

The following Chelsea FC guest post is by Caleb Thompson:

Okay, I know what you are thinking, “Chelsea had a rubbish season last year, how could they ever win the title?.” And yes, I have to agree with the fact that Chelsea didn’t have the greatest season. Okay, it truly was rubbish, but this year is different.

This year I think the Blues will go all the way. Here are the three reasons I think Chelsea FC will win the English Premier League:

Hazard will be back at his best

Hazard last season didn’t perform to his capability, everyone knows that. He only managed to grab three assists and four goals compared to Mesut Özil’s nineteen and six. That’s quite a gap. But this season is different. This is the redemption season. A month ago he was linked with a move to PSG but Hazard insisted that he wanted to leave Chelsea “like a boss.”

This season he is hyped up and ready to show the world what type of player he really is. Going by the start that he has had this season, he will be one to watch.

No European Football

Without having to worry about traveling overseas, Chelsea can focus in on the English competition. This will be an advantage to them as they will have more time to recover before the next game, as well as having more time to train and find out the opponent’s weaknesses, before the following game.

This should give Chelsea the time and freedom to really give other teams a run for their money this time round. Also less Champions League football means less injuries, hopefully.

Conte is in charge

Antonio Conte, oh Antonio Conte. How much he has changed Chelsea in the short time he has been in charge.

One example is the truly fantastic transfer window that he had. He managed to offload Djilobodji to Sunderland as well as loaning out names like Loic Remy and Christian Atsu for a season. He jettisoned the unneeded players, and also brought in new recruitments to spruce up the team.

These players included N’Golo Kante, Michy Batshuayi and David Luiz. These players will slot into the team, and give the club a sense of renewed ambition that was desperately needed. As well as a brilliant transfer window he has also changed the team ethic into something refreshing, something that people can look back and say “well done.”

With these three points in mind you can get a sense that Chelsea FC really do have a chance to clinch the title, but anything can happen and things can change. We will just have to wait and see how the season progresses and we’ll find out soon enough if these points will have an impact on Chelsea’s squad.
