Manchester City really took it to Chelsea today. The 3-0 score is indicative of what a true rout we witnessed. And now the book makers have taken note. On August 7th, Manchester City was given 11-4 odds to win the 2015-16 Barclay’s Premier League title. Chelsea was at 7-4; this according Bet365.com
Today, the same sports book gives City 5-4 odds, and Chelsea checks in at 10-3.
Of course, it’s just two games, it’s extremely early, and the five point advantage that Manchester City has on Chelsea isn’t really much of a gap at all. Almost all football pundits, including myself, picked Chelsea to win the league this year. I still think they will, it’s just that it may take them longer this season to pull away from everybody else.
To be fair though, rumors of Manchester City ‘s demise have been greatly exaggerated, as a record crowd at The Etihad witnessed what a force to be reckoned with the home side really is.
