Mesut Ozil is probably your co-front runner for Premier League player of the year as we’ve now reached the midpoint of the season. Although Ozil’s Gunners teammate, Petr Cech, has to be considered too as he just broke the English top flight’s clean sheets record. Arsenal went back atop the table yesterday, and despite all their faults, and their missteps here and there, they have to be concerned the current league title favorites at this point.
Bournemouth were unbeaten in six but couldn’t slow down Mesut Ozil, who scored a goal and grabbed his league-leading 16th assist in a strong performance from Arsenal. The Gunners beat the Cherries 2-0 yesterday.
Mesut Ozil also leads the list of ten most searched Premier League players of the past seven days; according to Roto World.
