Most coaches are on Twitter, verified blue check mark and all, but most don’t actually do the Tweeting. It’s usually a member of the Sports Information Department who runs it, writes and publishes the Tweets. Jim Harbaugh says he does his own Tweets and given the way he answered questions about the micro-blogging platform, I believe him.
The way he articulated his experiences with trolls, it definitely sounds authentic.

“I got to make sure I spell everything right, because if you misspell one thing or you don’t put a comma or a period in the right place, they’ll make quite a bit sport of you,” he said.
He was then asked if people come after him.
“All the time, you misspell one word…it’s been good for me though, good for my spelling and my grammar.”
The official Jim Harbaugh verified account isn’t all that exciting or interesting though. He’s got 300,000 followers, and like any high profile celebrity, it’s very corporate. You’ll find banal stuff like “thoughts and prayers” and promos for fund-raisers. He says he really enjoys it though:
“It takes time but I do it. It’s a way to connect with people, get to know people, see what they’re thinking.”
“Also I find it pretty humorous. There’s a lot of humor in different perspectives, it makes me laugh.”
Harbaugh will have the best secondary in the country, and easily the best in the Big Ten this year. Here’s our feature on CB Wayne Lyons, the top rated corner in the nation on NFL draft boards, and DB Jabril Peppers, who is certainly the next big thing.
