Liverpool FC Ready to Let Ben Davies Leave on Loan this Summer

Liverpool signed Ben Davies this past January transfer window as they were in desperate need of fixing their crisis in the back line. Davies did not make single appearance in a red shirt, and yet he could be shipping out already.

The Merseyside club are ready to let him depart on loan, according to 90 Min, “with Sheffield United, Bournemouth and Celtic all interested.”

Amid heavy links to Manchester City all summer long, striker Harry Kane failed to show at Tottenham Hotspur training on both Monday and Tuesday.

Jack Grealish to Make Record Breaking Move to Man City Today

Today is the day, reportedly, that we’ll see Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish complete his £100 million move to Manchester City. This is according to the Daily Mail, who claim the attacking midfielder and English international is “in line to earn in excess of £230,000-a-week at the Etihad Stadium.”

It was reported last month that the first bid placed by City, of £75m, was rejected and thus they had to up the ante in order to get their man. The new amount will be the most ever paid by an English club to sign a player.

Chelsea Reportedly Increase Bid to Sign Romelu Lukaku

romelu lukaku

Having eventually accepted that Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland won’t be coming this summer, Chelsea are revving up their pursuit of a different center forward- Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku. Big Rom was of course a member of the Blues previously, but only know is he really hitting the level that he’s truly capable of reaching.

Inter is not really interested in selling, as the Blues reportedly offered €100m plus Marcos Alonso on Monday, only to see that bid rejected. However, they have now returned with a new and improved offer.

Chelsea FC Transfer Talk: Romelu Lukaku, Marcos Alonso

Having finally become resigned to the fate that Erling Haaland is not coming over this summer, Chelsea have turned elsewhere in their pursuit of a centre forward.

It’s a familiar name, as he was a previously a Chelsea player, albeit only for a short time, in Inter Milan hit man Romelu Lukaku. Inter insist Big Rom is not for sale, at any price, but considering the type of money that owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to throw down, they might have to change their minds.

United Keeper Dean Henderson Sidelined with Post-Covid-19 Fatigue

It still remains to be seen what will happen with the goalkeeping situation at Manchester United once this upcoming season kicks off. Dean Henderson, who usurped David de Gea down the stretch of this past season, is thought to probably still be the No. 1, but he’s going to be on the sidelines for a bit.

Henderson, 24, tested positive for covid-19 three weeks ago, and he’s still feeling the long term effects of contracting the coronavirus. While Dean Henderson tested negative and then returned to training, he is now suffering from the long term fatigue associated with covid-19.

Yankee Stadium Cat is Athletic, Sign Him Up (Videos)

There is no doubt about who was the MVP for the New York Yankees on Monday night- the cat that got loose on the Yankee Stadium field. He (we don’t know yet if it’s a he or a she, but we’ll just go with he for the time being for brevity and clarity sake) delayed the game for over four minutes as the stadium stuff just couldn’t corral the kitty.

Down 7-1 to the hapless Baltimore Orioles, the Yankees fans on hand took to chanting “Let’s Go Cat” and “M-V-P!” while the feline was out on the prowl through left field.

Evaluating the Prospects Chicago Cubs Received in Fire Sale Trades

After the San Diego Padres sold off everyone who was good on their 1992-93 teams, they had to do SOMETHING to market the 1994 squad. So they ran ticket sales campaigns that showed two dudes talking about the current team, and basically asking “who are these players we’ve never heard of?”

It was like a family friendly version of the scene in Major League, where the construction workers look at the Cleveland Indians roster as say “heyo, who are dese fucking guys!?” The Padres ad concludes with the sales slogan “hey, it’s baseball.” It was such a refreshingly honest promo that even though I can’t find it anywhere online today, I still remember it nearly three decades later.

Christian Pulisic Open to a Position Switch Says Thomas Tuchel

Chelsea and United States Men’s National Team star Christian Pulisic is an attacking midfielder by definition. His best and most natural position is on the left wing, but football/soccer is a team sport, so the 22-year-old must do what is necessary to help out the side.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is a defense-first kind of manager, and that’s reflected in just how stellar Chelsea were last season in that department. The German took a side that was middling in mid-table last year, and guided them to a Champions League title and a top four finish via their ability to hardly ever concede goals.

Backlash Against Ricketts Stronger Than Ever as Cubs Totally Gut Team

It was Cubs Convention 2020, about a couple months before the world shut down due to the covid-19 pandemic. Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts took to the stage, where he was cascaded by a chorus of boos. It was directed at him, sure, but the general vitriol was aimed at the then soon to be launched Marquee Network.

“You won’t be booing in a year,” Ricketts boldly proclaimed. Well, now it’s trade deadline day 2021, and we’re doing a whole lot more than just booing. The MLB Trade Deadline is like the market for a sports guest post, there is a ton of wheeling and dealing going on. And the Cubs were the biggest sellers of all.

Amid Manchester City Links, Harry Kane Misses Tottenham Training

The Harry Kane to Manchester City transfer narrative has long grown tedious, but it’s about to really get flared up now! Monday brought the day that Kane was set to report to Tottenham Hotspur training, following an extended holiday which came on the heels of international duty with England.

Kane is said to believe he has a gentleman’s agreement in place to leave the club, while Tottenham brass dispute this. It means we could see a “hold out” situation developing, and it will come down to whichever side blinks first.
