The Jacksonville Jaguars got some negative news today regarding their first round pick. Justin Blackmon, the #5 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft out of Oklahoma State, was busted for DUI, and it was a whopper- three times the legal limit in the state of Oklahoma. The incident occurred early Sunday morning and is not Blackmon’s first offense of this sort.
He was also arrested on DUI suspicion in 2010, was caught doing 92 in a 60 mph zone, and found himself suspended for a game.

The arrest, first reported by Kelly Hines of the Tulsa World, was for a specific charge tied to a blood alcohol level of .15 or more — in fact, according to reports, he blew a .24, which is quite a bit more than the legal limit of .08. He was booked into jail at approximately 10:00 a.m. CT.
Per the World’s report, the officer who pulled Blackmon over at approximately 3:00 a.m. CT “smelled alcohol and observed Blackmon was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech and glassy and blood-shot eyes.”
Remember, before the draft it was Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd (with his three alcohol arrests during his college days), not Blackmon, who was considered the risky endeavor. Blackmon was regarded to be safe from doing the type of things that violate Roger Goodell’s conduct policy.
