Happy Manchester United vs. Liverpool F.C. week! On Sunday the rivalry gets renewed for the 203rd time (173rd clash in the top flight), and this match will see both sides becoming much more fit.

Let’s take a look at the recent injury absentees who should be back in action for this one, as well as some match FYIs. In this post, we’ll look at Liverpool’s fitness situation.

Liverpool’s starting goalkeeper, Alisson, has been out of commission since suffering an opening night calf injury. However, he should be back in between the sticks for this one. Go here for more on the Brazilian’s likely return. The former AS Roma man has only seen 39 minutes of action so far, all of it coming versus Norwich City in the curtain raiser.

Elsewhere world class winger Mohamed Salah should be good to go, despite his injury scare against Leicester City just before the international break. You’ll recall the very controversial challenge made on the Egyptian, which saw him exit the game early, hobbling a bit.

The two managers involved in that fixture could not have seen that specific play any more differently, but it appears Salah was alright in the end.
