Manchester United Transfer Talk: Sanchez, Lukaku, Boateng, Lozano

The rebuild of Manchester United could definitely take some time, so get ready and dig your heels in for that. The upshot is that we’ll have a summer transfer window filled with many comings and goings.

And with Manchester United linked to approximately 97,324 players already, the time is right for some Red Devils transfer talk. In this edition, we start with Antonio Conte assuming the position of Inter Milan manager, and what he had to say on speculation that his new club will sign a pair of United forwards, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez.

“I think now it’s very difficult to talk about this,” Conte responded when he was asked about the transfer market in a news conference today.

“For sure, we have a plan to try to improve the team. But it will be very important for the players, it will be very important to have a great will and great ambition, me, the players and the club, to try to reduce this gap.

When asked whether the club had met with Lukaku or not, Conte responded: “No, that’s not right, but I repeat in this moment there is a sporting director to talk about this and do this question about the transfer market, about the players.

“But I repeat, now we are very focused to do the first step and to work together.”

Upon being pressed about the potential signing of Sanchez, he said: “Yeah, but you’re talking about the transfer market, you have to talk to the sporting director about this topic.”

-Getting back to United’s never-ending and often futile quest to upgrade at centre back, today brought news surrounding long time target Jerome Boateng. The 30-year-old German international has rejected United in the past, and he won’t be going this time either, as Bayern Munich have approved his desire to leave.

According to the Daily Mail, Boateng will snub the idea of returning to the Premier League and instead hopes for a chance to join Paris Saint-Germain or Juventus.

Finally, PSV Eindhoven winger Hirving Lozano has made comments that suggest he would snub the possibility of playing at United.

Lozano says he focused on playing at PSV while also admitting that he would potentially be open to move. However, the Mexican international stressed the importance of having the opportunity to play Champions League football next season and this rules out the prospect of a move to United.
