Boise St. leaves WAC for Mountain West

That conference was wack! straight up WAC. That’s what Boise St. was thinking, as they bolted today, opting to join the Mountain West conference. It’s a step up for a program that was SHAFTED BIG TIME by BCS BS last season. They could be a top 5 team when the preseason rankings come out.

They aren’t going to be known first and foremost for the blue home field much longer.

This from the San Jose Mercury news blog:

One day after Colorado joined the Pac-10, Boise State has officially become a member of the Mountain West. (The league confirmed it following news reports on the subject.)

The Broncos needed to bolt the WAC by July in order to be eligible for the MWC in 2011, thus enabling their on-field performance to count in the formula that determines whether the MWC receives an automatic berth in the BCS.

The announcement should come as zero surprise.
