Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction, Team News vs Southampton FC

The Liverpool juggernaut rolls on, as they’re now 19 points up on everyone else in the league title race; having now played and won their game in hand. Up next they’ll host their de facto farm club, Southampton FC, who have come on really strong in midseason.

For Saints, the 9-0 humbling by Leicester City seems to have been their wake up as they won the reverse fixture and vaulted up the table. It wasn’t long ago they were in the relegation scrap, now they’re in the top half of the table. They face very long odds at Anfield, even despite the Reds missing some key players tomorrow.

Man United Make Surprising Odion Ighalo Addition on Deadline Day

Manchester United have reached agreement on a loan deal for striker Odion Ighalo at the 11th hour on January transfer window deadline day. Yes, it’s a move that has surprised almost everybody. The 30-year-old Nigerian arrives from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, and in essence he’s a stop-gap addition with leading scorer Marcus Rashford out injured for a few more weeks.

United were linked with AFC Bournemouth (and former MUFC academy product) Josh King, Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani and many others but it was Ighalo who actually saw his move materialized.

Arsenal Add Cedric Soares on Deadline Day, Beef Up Defense

Arsenal didn’t have the most glamorous transfer window possible, but they did have a very practical one. They needed to bolster talent and depth in defense and that’s exactly what they’ve done with their two signings.

On deadline day, Mikel Arteta’s club added full back Cedric Moares on loan from Southampton FC, with the option to buy at the end of the season. It’s a better deal, for both sides than it first appears on the surface.  Arsenal will pay £5 million, which exceeds the fee Saints paid for the 28-year-old back in 2015.

Boring, Dull, Homogenized Super Bowl Logo: NFL Made Huge Mistake

super bowl lii

“Corporate culture” is one of the worst business buzzwords you’ll ever hear. It’s right up there with “paradigm shift,” “synergy,” “core competencies” and “best practices” in the corporatespeak pantheon of meaningless gobbledy gook.

That’s because corporate culture values homogeneity and predictability above all else, and the National Football League is more than happy to conform. The NFL is a hyper-protected brand, on levels both great and small that would blow your mind. The NFL also protects their brand, even on levels of minutia, with the ferocity of a mafia hit man. It’s this “brand value” and “deliverable” that explanations the horrifying degeneration of the Super Bowl logo.

Manchester United Starting XI Prediction vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear, earlier this January transfer window that he would like another striker on his roster, and given how depleted the final third position group is right now, who could blame him?

Heavily linked with AFC Bournemouth’s Josh King, a United academy product, OGS had this to say about any potential 11th hour move: “I don’t think we will do any more business, no. I don’t think so.” The Norwegian, at his weekly press conference today ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League fixture versus Wolverhampton Wanderers, said he expects new signing Bruno Fernandes to make his Red Devils debut this weekend.

Manchester United Team News vs Wolves: Fernandes, Matic, Fosu-Mensah

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed it- new £46.8 million signing Bruno Fernandes will indeed be in the mix tomorrow when his side hosts Wolverhampton Wanderers. It was a rocky road, a roller coaster of a transfer saga to say the least, but the former Sporting CP man is now here and available for selection on the weekend.

Given the complete crisis in midfield right now, he arrives at exactly the right time. Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay are out injured until after the winter Premier League break while Nemanja Matic is suspended. Solskjaer’s selection issues extend beyond the midfield though of course.

Arsenal at Burnley Match Preview, Team News, How to Watch, Predicted Score

Arsenal visits Burnley on Sunday in a match-up of two sides that have not seen their season turn out the way they hoped it would. The hosts have won their last two matches, vaulting them up to 13th in the table, but prior to that they had lost three in a row and were very much in a relegation scrap.

Currently just seven points above the drop zone, they’ll need to keep scrapping to acquire points in order to maintain a safety position. They’ll head into this match with a lot of confidence and high moral though, having just won at Old Trafford for the first time since 1962. It was a great day for Sean Dyche’s men, and another dark night for Manchester United.

Is There A Point To The EFL Cup Anymore?

English football has a long and proud history of cup competitions. It gave us the FA Cup, which is the oldest cup competition in world football. Years later, it also gave us the Football League Cup – a competition that is similar to the FA Cup in all ways other than the fact that entry is limited only to those teams in the top four divisions in English football. Back at the time it was invented, it gave clubs an extra piece of silverware to compete for, another route into Europe, and another chance to play at Wembley.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction at Leicester City

No team has won more Premier League games away at Leicester’s King Power Stadium than Chelsea has with four. They have the same status when it comes to across all competitions too, winning at the KP six times. Additionally, Brendan Rodgers still hasn’t won any of his 13 meetings against Chelsea as a manager.

So while the Foxes are looking down at the Blues one spot in the standings, and will have the crowd on their side on Saturday, they really aren’t favorites.

Chelsea at Leicester City Team News: Vardy, Morgan, Pulisic, Abraham

The very first match of the Premier League weekend also happens to be the best one; at least on paper. It’s also one that, according to recent trends, doesn’t bode well for the home team side, third place Leicester City. The hosts have not won any of the last six meetings between these two clubs in Premier League competition.

Also, fourth place Chelsea have shown a better penchant for winning at the King Power than anybody else. We’ll see if the trend is your friend here. In looking at the team news for this one, Leicester should have their talisman, Jamie Vardy, fit enough to start as he’s now returned from a recent gluteal injury. He was fit enough to come off the bench at feature in the EFL Cup loss to Aston Villa.

danny rose

As we enter into the final hours of the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur have been pretty busy, both with incomings and out-goings. Yesterday saw Spurs bring in their second addition (after Gedson Fernandes) with the pick-up of PSV Eindhoven midfielder Steven Bergwijn.

We’re also seeing the clear-out of surplus players (as well as those who just don’t want to be here) too. Kyle Walkers-Peters joined Christian Eriksen (Inter Milan) in heading out the exit door. The 22-year-old, who can play on either side in the back line on the outside has joined Southampton FC on loan for the remainder of the season. And Danny Rose has just finalized a loan move to Newcastle United.

Bruno Fernandes In, Marcos Rojo Out as United Transfers Confirmed

We’re in the last throes of the January transfer window now and it remains to be seen whether or not Manchester United will make any 11th hour moves. The only major addition so far, Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes, was unveiled to the public today.

Nathan Bishop, a young goalkeeper from League One, is reportedly close to being acquired and would then be assigned to the youth squad. Elsewhere, defender Marcos Rojo has joined Ashley Young in heading out the exit door this month. He’s moved back to one of his former clubs, Estudiantes, in his native Argentina.
